On the highway from Asunción to Buenos Aires, a dour, unsmiling truck driver picks up a woman and her eight-month-old baby. With 1500 km of road ahead of them, and the driver’s general demeanor, it is clear to the woman that this is going to be a long journey. But gradually the strained atmosphere gives way to conversation.
